Jarchives was simply a motive – I wanted to create a space where I could artistically challenge and showcase my skills (Jarchives is an abbreviation for “Jarlene’s Archives”). In the early stages, I was focused on concert photography and utilized those events to get to know my camera functions. Then followed fashion shoots so I could strengthen my creative directing skills. Soon after I realized that I could do so much more with the platform, and so I was determined to turn Jarchives into a creative concept – now here me out.
I wanted to remold this platform into a mix of different genre’s of art, and this is where the creative concept was born. Jarchives is now a platform that emphasizes fashion & community. For my rebrand series, that took place from September to December 2024, I focused on shooting mostly local creatives in Toronto and executing a street-style shoot to present them through the art of fashion. This provides up-rising artists and creatives a platform to expand their reach and make a meaningful connection with their audience, alongside the Jarchives family.
So why not join the family and follow @jarchiives.jpg on Instagram! Be the first to see all of my upcoming projects, and stay tuned for that Summer 2025 content.
